TERRIBLE, OVERPRICED FOOD & SERVICE!!! We chose Sapalta to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. We waited over 30 minutes to get soup and salad. I had to walk over to our waitress to ask for water and to find out if the bread and butter she put on our table before running off was vegan (i’m vegan/wife is not). It wasn’t vegan and she said they normally have a vegan option but ran out. I’m glad I didn’t eat what she presented us both. We ended up waiting 90 minutes before our food finally came out. The entrée and side of vegetables was cold and they ran out of the risotto for my wife’s crab cakes (told us this over an hour into our wait. They ran out of the desert my wife wanted and offered me cut up fruit or a vegetarian, NOT VEGAN dessert. I started to question if she thought I was vegetarian and maybe that’s why she didn’t warn me about the cheese/butter on the bread. Wife: liked the lobster bisque and cocktail, didn’t like the crab cakes and mashed potatoes (sub for risotto). Me: liked the salad and the ratatouille was ok, eggplant steak and vegetable medley was cold and terrible, cocktail was ok. The waitress offered my wife a free dessert because of running out of risotto and tiramisu and just removed cost of cocktail since none of the other desserts appealed to her and we wanted to leave at this point being that we’ve now been there 2 hours. She took off the vegetables from my order and I asked if she would do the same for the eggplant dish. She went to ask and someone else, perhaps the manager, came over and just said we discounted the eggplant (25%) and handed me the bill without an apology or anything. The waitress did apologize. Oh, and the table of 4 next to us that got there after us, got their water when the waitress first greeted them and received their entrees before us. We were both very disappointed in the food and service and won’t be returning. Worst experience we’ve ever had in the Finger Lakes sad to say.
