Jody closes at three in the afternoon on weekdays, and her opening hours are posted as six, but in practice at five a.m. The woman knows her customers are farmers or teachers or retirees, any of whom welcome an early shot of java. At 06:30 the rush begins.
Hot breakfast sandwiches, warmed muffins or toasted bagels, and beverage of choice for everyone. On more than one occasion I've seen toddlers make a beeline for the refrigerator: The juice boxes are stored on the bottom two rows, for the smaller patrons.
Like every good coffee shop, this place has good parking, lots of newspapers, and plenty of people to talk to if you want it. If you want peace and quiet, the library is across the street.
