11/02/2012 - Ernest Sewell
We live at Oak Hill apartments in Rensselaer, NY. We received a Cugino's flier on our door a few months back & it's been on our fridge ever since. Tonight (Nov 2, 2012) we decided to take advantage of a special on the flier, our first time ever calling or doing business with Cugino's. First, we were told the specials on the flier were invalid, and the girl quoted us $6 more than the price on the flier (24 wings, 12 cut cheese, 2 litre soda). Second, she tells us that they don't deliver to Oak Hill on Fridays because "it's too busy". She never asked if we were picking it up, or wanting delivery. (For the record, we normally order from Route Four Pizzaria, and always pick it up ourselves, which we would have done this time, too.) She flat out told us that she wouldn't service us simply because it was Friday and "it's too busy on a Friday". I forget where it's written down that busy was bad for a food business, especially on a Friday night. We were flabbergasted at the level of rudeness from this person, & the utter disregard for us, our business, or a new customer. (We told her we'd never called before.) We wadded up the flier, and tossed in the trash bin. We will never be calling Cugino's again. They lost two customers in one fail swoop. Probably the most unprofessional and undesirable local establishment we've encountered yet. We love supporting local businesses rather than chains (like Pizza Hut, etc). But Cugino's will never get our business.
