Went there for the first time last Friday. I never had the original but heard lots about it. The fish was not that good. It's not battered its crumbs that fall right off. The fish taste is very "fishy" tasting which says they are using a cheap fish. The fries are fresh cut but I had to wait for my fish so my fries where cold and soggy in the 3 minutes it to me to get home. Potato salad was gross to. Potatoes are not cooked at all. There was 2 people ahead of me when I got there but the staff was probably 7-10. Not sure what they were doing. The only one that was personable was the adult, who's name is Kelly. They tried to serve me burned fish but she made sure I got a fresh one. Don't waste your money, if you want good fish go to The Shingle behind Jean's. Great tasting food, service and price. 3 things Jean's does not have.

Fish was thin and dry. I made the mistake of getting scallops and shrimp. Shrimp was tough with no taste and scallops tiny, dry. Will not go again. C

Fish is fantastic! That's it for positives sadly. The Mac and cheese is taken out of the fridge and served cold!!! Apparently when u get take out the expect u to to go home and cook it! Prices are a little high but it is seafood. Service is slow and the young girl behind the counter is very rude. The older woman, I would say 40's behind the counter does everything from serving food to packing order to ringing people out. She is very friendly and could use help. I was dissapointed overall but will go back because the fish is the best around!

Went on a Friday afternoon. I walked into the business and it was easily over 100 degrees in the place. The tiny AC they had in the place must have been broken. The line was long but I was served in about 20 minutes. The fish was ok. The breading was very bland and there wasn't really any flavor. The sides were bland as well. Tasted like thin mayo' onion and macaroni.

I let a few weeks go by and thought I would try the fish one more time. Last Saturday they were open, this Saturday they are closed when me and my daughter pulled up.

Inconsistent hours and bland food. I will pass thanks.

I came here from North Carolina. The last time was many yrs ago. I has scallops which were burned just plain nasty could only eat maybe two or three. The fish also was not good. Will not go back when I am in Elmira.

Used to love it years ago, but found tiny feet in 2 pcs. of fish...Either rodent or mouse...received refund and puked in the parking lot

My husband and I were so excited that they had opened again. We were really looking forward to the tasty fish that they once had. Sadly we were very disappointed. We waited 10 min to get our order taken and there was only one person ahead of us. Once we finally got our order taken the girl just looked at me and said "you want the fish!!" Not even one acknowledgement that we were standing there. The fish was not as good, my fries were soggy and the coleslaw was terrible. During the time that we were there another customer got tired of waiting for part of his order, and left without it, another one ordered a pound of shrimp and got chicken strips. They were very unorganized. I hope they get things together soon or they won't be open for long.

My son wanted fish so I heard about jeans bean an I took him there everyone I talked to said it was better fish now then back in the day.....boy were they wrong my sons fish wasn't all that warm fries were cold an they took his Mac an chesse out of the refrigerator an put it in the bag ....now I don't no about everyone but the reason for me to take my kids out to eat is so they get a hot meal that I don't have to cook or heat up when I get home...I will never go back again

The Fish was excellent, but FORGET about their macaroni & potato salad! It was VERY bland!!!
The only thing I could taste in both salads was a bit of onion. The potato salad tasted EXACTLY like COLD mashed potatoes!
