05/14/2018 - Carole
We were very pleased to hear that the Bay Sire had re-opened! It is a convenient distance from our home and it has a unique, fun decor. Unfortunately, one of the problems that was not solved from its previous opening is that of extremely slow service! The wait staff is friendly, but not professional. They definitely need some training.
Also, the menu items sounded delicious, but did not live up to expectations.
We arrived and were seated promptly. A few minutes later we placed a drink order. Twenty minutes later a person sitting at the next table came and asked whether we had placed an order. We replied that we had, but it had not arrived. He said "I was just wondering because I thought I heard you order." Meanwhile, the drinks finally arrived and we placed our dinner order. I ordered the chicken with sauce, mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus. My husband ordered the flounder, mashed potatoes and asparagus. Twice during the next forty-five minutes, a waitress stopped by to say they were very busy but our order would arrive soon. We usually only have one drink, but sitting there with nothing to munch on (perhaps they could have offered some rolls and butter?) we ordered a second. Another 15 minute wait. Shortly after the second drinks were served, our dinner arrived. The sauce had completely dried on my chicken and on the plate. The mashed potatoes were slightly warm. My roasted asparagus consisted of three tiny, burned stems. A small slice of bread completed the meal.
My husband's flounder was obviously a frozen, prebreaded item. His mashed potatoes were slightly warm and there was no asparagus on his plate. He did have the small slice of bread. We caught the attention of our waitress and asked that his asparagus be brought out. It never arrived. Obviously, we were very disappointed. We do hope that the staff will address the problems because we really want the Bistro to succeed!!
