On the plus side:
Friendly Staff
Cozy atmosphere
On the negative side:
My friend and I ordered gyros sandwiches - hers with pork and mine with lamb. I observed the waiter fingering the sandwiches with his bare fingers to determine which was which before serving. We should have left then!
Very little meat in the gyros and cucumber sauce was indiscernible. We ordered extra cups of sauce. Lots of lettuce though Coleslaw was tasteless and fries were limp. No hot water was offered with my cup of tea. Meal was nearly over before an additional tea bag and hot water was offered.
Suggestion: Smaller menu with more attention to quality than variety.

Salad was good, but meal was served way too soon before we had finished 1/2 of salad. They forgot to bring rolls and some side dishes until we asked for them. Baked potato was cold & chicken hardly warm. Way too large of a menu-no way too keep all entrees fresh. Portions were large. Did not offer any specials. Had to take our own check up front to pay & than was embarrassed when asked verbally in front of everyone "how much to add for our tip"!!!!

Vegetable Soup and Lasagna - Ordered the Lasagna and selected the cup of vegetable soup. In my tiny cup of soup was a Bay Leaf 2 1/2' long and an 1" wide. Aren't those supposed to be taken out before serving? Then in one bite of my Lasagna I bit down on something hard and when I fished it out, it too was a piece of Bay Leaf. I don't think I care to come back.
I'd had the Lasagna at Mills River and it and the bread were very good. Somethings wrong at Kelsey's!

my husband and I decided to try Kelsey's since it was recently reopened. Wish I would have stayed home. My husband ordered chicken marsala and was served VERY under cooked chicken. was told by the manager that he couldn't tell the difference, really if you don't know raw from cooked chicken why are you managing a restaurant. I had roasted chicken, I could have gone to Ingles and got a whole chicken for half the price that would have tasted fresher cooked. On the up side our server was excellent very polite and attentive.

Menu items we selected were fair at best. My wife became sick during the night. The children's menu did not include any macaroni and cheese - a standard at restaurants catering to families. The side item for kid's menu was mostly fries. We probably will not go back and will look elsewhere when grandkids come to town.

Its Mills River restaurant...... not fine dining. same menu , same food, same pay at register style. what its not, is the Kelsey's of old.
