While driving through Statesville, NC, I stopped at a family-run barbecue restaurant known for its Memphis-style smoked meats, hand-chopped daily and served with sides like baked beans and hush puppies that evoke a nostalgic, homey feeling. The atmosphere is welcoming, the sauce is uniquely tangy and thicker than typical North Carolina barbecue sauces, and the establishment operates on a cash-only basis with limited seating, making it a straightforward, authentic dining experience.

I have been eating at little pigs my entire life. They opened the year I was born and my family would go there almost every weekend. Best bbq period! And it's family owned by a great bunch of people. They always treat you like they are happy to see you!
