09/11/2024 - Corie C.
Growing up, my father worked at Forman Baker in NYC during the 1980s and early 1990s, creating delicious pastries and breads. While Gertel's retail shop closed in 2007, they still operate their wholesale business in Brooklyn. The rugelach, hammentaschen, mandel bread, and challah from Gertel's are absolutely divine, with rich flavors and perfect textures that you won't find elsewhere. The pastries are so addictive that you might find yourself indulging more often than planned - be sure to say hello to my dad if you stop by!
