There's a comforting simplicity in biting into an empanada filled with chicken, cheese, and corn, especially when the crispy crust still holds a hint of warmth from the kitchen. Paired with freshly made yuca balls and a cold, fresh fruit juice, the experience feels like a brief, flavorful escape to the heart of the Dominican Republic right in my own neighborhood.
