Like the countless other negative reviews here, I am a long time Pleasanton resident, also used to be a regular here and have decided to go elsewhere now. When their bread is fresh, it's great. But, their service has gotten worse and worse, and the delays in getting my sandwich average over an hour now. The employees will push the estimated time to about an hour after online order. This happens no matter when I order. This allows them to let the ticket sit there for 50 minutes and then make the sandwich then. The problem is that no other restaurant I order from does this. So I don't think to order an hour ahead for lunch (really, no one does).
I had been eating here almost weekly, but each time I would arrive 45 to 50 minutes after placing the order, I'd get a smart alec comment from one of the employees that thre was still time to goaccording to the ticket (how dare I ask about my sandwich only 50 minutes after placing the order!). This happens even when it's not crowded there. There was a heavyset female today with a shrill voice who gave me attitude about asking about my order 50 minutes after I ordered it (because she still had 10 minutes according to the ticket). Then when I came back in 10 minutes later, she yelled at all of us about covid guidelines and that some of us needed to wait outside. Only one person left, so I left again, hungry and without our sandwiches, but this time it was for good. And the staff there couldn't care less.
After reading all the other reviews with the exact same complaints, it's clearly a management issue. I'm only giving it an extra star because a couple of employees there are friendly, and when the bread isn't stale, it's quite good.
