My wife went up to you guys today and parked in the back to get ice cream with my 6 year old son. The owner came out telling her she had to move because this was private property. When my wife explained they were there to get ice cream the owner told my wife that people park there and then go to Baker's or elsewhere instead and that if she wanted ice cream she needed to get it now... or leave. Apart from insinuating that my wife was lying, this was extremely rude. My wife never did get an apology, instead she was told that the owner called the police to try to have our vehicle towed. We have been coming to you guys for 2 years now every since we moved to Ohio. I nor my wife have ever been treated like this as customers anywhere before. On top of this my 6 years old son was subjected to this conversation as well. As a minimum you owe my wife and my son an apology. I am floored that a business owner would act this way.
*Edit: I decided to talk to the owner for clarification on why this took place. The reason the owner did not believe my wife was a customer is because my 6 year old son was playing and therefore they had not come up to the window yet. I'm not really sure what is believed 6 year olds do. I would think a 6 year old studying chemistry might be out of place, but not playing. Also the owner was kind enough to explain that telling my wife she checked with the police and could have her towed was not the same as telling her she would be towed. After all implications are not the same as threats. There was, however, a justifying reason at the end of this- The owner stated she is allowed to be tired and cranky, and that if she had been busy at the time my wife would have been holding up a spot another customer could have used. I guess it's a good thing they were not busy...
