You need to change website!??? Are you ever open. Love going here for our anniversary. Our anniversary was Saturday and couldn’t wait to eat here tonight. It says your open but you are not😡

One of the best dining experiences that I’ve ever had. I had the German combination plate, and my wife had the surf and turf (filet and scampi). Everything was deliciously memorable. We’ve had dozens of German meals around the US, but nothing compares to the quality that Henry Wahner’s offers. Here are the breakdowns of the individual items we had:

Schnitzel: Lightly breaded and extremely fresh. Perfectly moist with a lingering spice that leaves you wanting more.
Goulash: One of my favorites - the beef was exceptionally tender with a phenomenal gravy. A fantastic preparation of a quintessential German dish.
Spatzel: The best that I ever had. Freshly made that day and it definitely shows. Very tender and flavorful.
Sauerkraut: I love sauerkraut and this doesn’t disappoint. Plenty of tang - perfect complement to the dish.
Sausage: Perfect bland of meat:fat. Spice was perfect - present but but not overwhelming.
Filet: Extremely generous portion - cooked to a perfect medium rare. Meat was an exceptional quality. Literally “melted in our mouth”
Scampi: SO GOOD. Huge shrimp that were perfectly cooked and seasoned (seems to be a trend here). Plenty of butter was given to dip the scampi, so good! The best surf and turf we’ve had!
Sauerkraut balls: perfect start to the meal! Very tangy!

The portions were extremely generous and everything was cooked exceptionally well. We finished the evening with German Chocolate cake....unbelievable! Perfect ending to a perfect meal.

The service was exceptional and the setting was a perfect companion to an extraordinary meal. These kind of meals remind us why we love going out to eat. Cheers to the owner for a meal that we will forever remember!

Been going there for MANY years and have enjoyed EVERY experience. A RARE Prime Rib is arterial plaque on a platter....we all KNOW this! This is best EVER! I go every 2-3 years, so I'm NOT afraid. The servings are straight out of the Flintstones! Eat, go home, and un-buckle your belt!

We were there Saturday 6/20/15, we'd been there before and the restaurant side seemed family oriented, so we didn't think anything of taking out 2 year old grandson and our 10 month old granddaughter, there were 4 adults. They don't have high chairs, but they had booster seats???? Ok, we could deal with that, we ordered 4 meals, and agreed to the $5.00 extra charge for 2 of us to share the "meat" of a meal, there were 2 pops and 1 milk and 2 waters ordered for drinks (that never did get refilled), after getting seated we had to ask for a waitress to please wait on us. The waitress was friendly enough, but served from the end of the table, handing the food down "the line", instead of plating each of us, which she could have. Then when we had to get our waitresses attention to give us "boxes" and our check she informed us the gratuity was already included for over 5 people in a party, seriously a 2 year old and 10 month old that had to be held the entire meal really put the waitress to "overwork", okay. The porterhouse was tough and hardly edible, yes it was of generous size, but what good is that when it tastes awful. Let's put it this way, we will NEVER be back and NEVER recommend this place, it's really not that nice or clean of an atmosphere, the greeter wasn't helpful and we should have turned around and headed out right then and there. By the way with the gratuity it was $144, way way outrageous when the food and service was sooooo terrible.

review_stars 09/23/2014 - Beware! This is Disgusting!
They obvioiusly are used to getting away with selling thick slices of old beef for premium prices. The $34 "Porterhouse" was tough as shoe leather. Now we know why the parking lot is a wreck, the place is usually empty, and the whole thing is falling down around itself. Neither the sign out front nor the menues have been replaced in probably 30 years. Tacky interior takes "hole in the wall" to new lows. The place smells like a musty basement. For these prices go to Morton's or Hyde Park and spare yourself the grief.. This place gets ZERO stars. To give it even one star would denigrate the rating system. But this page requires you to give them at least one star to submit your review. WAY OVERPRICED to say the least! Say hello to Honey Boo Boo and her whole extended family while you are there. You've been warned.
