Been a Ron's fan since I was a kid, nearly 50 years ago. Was sad to see the place leave Camden, Ohio when it burned down...but years later was excited to see Ron's come back thanks to business owner Todd Cottingim.

Ron's Deluxe pizza has been a main attraction around the Dayton area for a long time and anyone that has ever eaten a Ron's Deluxe pizza knows what I am talking about. That thin crust with salt and corn meal on the bottom (whatever it was), those mushrooms, most certainly the kind of sausage they used, and last but not least the type of onions, red, and green peppers they used. No place around ... matter of fact, no pizza place I've ever eaten at in the U.S. put the same amount of red and green peppers on their deluxe pizza as Ron's does. It is what separates a good pizza from the best!

Recently new owners in Camden have taken it upon themselves to change the Ron's Deluxe pizza. Not the same crust, no salt or cornmeal...whatever they used to put under the crust, it's gone. Gone are those fine chopped sweet onions...and gone are those red and green peppers. Oh they're still there, just nowhere near the same amount. People know what I am talking about. Ron's Deluxe pizza used to be covered in red and green peppers and sausage...I mean covered. Heck, it's what made them so successful for so long in our small village...and I was born in 1972.

I don't mind fresh ingredients, like they told me they changed to. I don't even mind this new deluxe pizza, but it's not a Ron's Deluxe, not even close. Sort of like drinking water and grabbing someone's Sprite and getting a surprise, or driving to McDonalds and ordering a Big Mac and getting a Whopper. Yeah, you get the idea. How can you do that? How can you change someone's signature product, hang a sign over the door, advertise it as the same business and literally change every product they serve. C'mon, man!! (Joe Biden imitation) It's no longer a Ron's product when you change it.

In fact, it is a lack of respect for Ron himself. It's his product, his name, and his reputation. You can't just mess with a man's intellectual property that way and change it, then turn around and use his sign and his name to profit from it that way. It's simply not right and is a lack of respect for Ron himself.

You want to change the product, then add it to the menu, give people an option, that is fine, but don't mess with the best! Why would you want to buy a McDonalds franchise and serve Wendy's on the menu? It's the same difference.

People in the village of Camden, Ohio want to see the new owners flourish. We want to keep our Ron's Pizza in town, but we want the same products that has served this village for so long...longer than the new owners have been alive. If they want to give us more options, we'll support that too, but please...give us what we've been so used to for so long, the same products we've supported for so long. We'd also like to see Ron's legacy be continued unchanged so future generations can enjoy it.

Speaking for no less than 4 families of the village of Camden. I could add more AND name them, but I won't.

Concerned citizen of the village of Camden.

Tried their pizza for the first time last night, it was the best pizza I've had in years! They have definitely gained a repeat customer. The staff was very prompt and friendly, nice little mom and pop shop atmosphere. I only had a small dlx pizza but am looking forward to trying many other things from their large menu. And much to my surprise the dude that cooked my pizza informed me that if it's at least a $20.00 order they will deliver to West Alexandria .
