We were at the 156th and Maple location this evening. The experience there was less than pleasant. Granted, we are not in the restaurant business but when people see open tables that would be comfortable for their situation, the blowback from the "hostess" was less than pro-customer. I am on crutches right now so while she was having a seating discussion with the people in front of us we took the table, which by the way was close to the hostess stand so we got to hear her be less than pleasant with people as they came in and asked for low-top tables. One was available but she would not seat the couple at it but took them to a high table that was uncomfortable to them. Looking around the restaurant the majority of diners were older people- not really the crowd to sit comfortably at high tables. My suggestion would be to have all low tables in the center of the room and high tops around the perimeter. Just a suggestion from the consumer. We have tried to make the effort to get to the restaurant before the hostess starts her shift - this way we have our choice of where to sit. This is more of a bar situation, why is a hostess ( and an unfriendly one at that ) necessary? The customer opinion should prevail. I hope others let their opinions be known. There were many unhappy faces on the customers by the time we left. Please consider our suggestion. Food was good, atmosphere was tense.
