Hey, y'all,
I visited Red Zone, and fell in love with their food! If you are looking for awesome pulled pork, brisket, smoked chicken, or ribs, you've got to try this place! Don't miss their cheesy potatoes and homemade chips, either. New owner a year and a half ago, and boy does he know what he's doing. He's really turned things around. I heard their barbecue sauce won 4th place in the nation at the Memphis competition! Give this place a try and you won't regret it! It's my new favorite barbecue place, and they cater too!

The first time I visited Red Zone they had run out of rubs (this at around 6:30 PM). The second time I actually got to try the ribs, but they honestly weren't worth the wait. The BBQ just isn't that good for the price, which is expensive ($20-$25 if you get a few ribs, a couple of small side orders and a soda).

Also, while there the manager got into a fight with a customer who brought in a gift certificate that apparently hadn't expired but the manager wouldn't accept. He told the customer that, although the certificate was still "technically" good, they had decided a few months back not to accept them any longer. Weird.

And while a "dive" atmosphere doesn't throw me if the BBQ in a place is good, the cafeteria-level atmosphere at Red Zone is kind of dreary. There's plenty of parking here, though, it's easy to find and it seemed pretty clean; at least the place has that going for it.
