Last night, I had arranged a dinner for my ex-colleagues from Unilever Pakistan. We were a group of about 40 people. I have been organizing these get togethers for a few years now. Each time a different restaurant.
But I must confess, this one at Charsi Karhai was by far the best of them all. This is not just my opinion, but every single one of the participants of the dinner were full of praises. The reasons were simple.
"¢ First off, since the invitation was for 7 pm, which is maghrib time these days, many of us wanted to say their prayers. There was quite decent arrangement for that already in place.
"¢ The restaurant manager Gill had coordinated the menu with me as per our requirements. There was multiple back and forth on texts as well as calls, ironing out the arrangements - I haven't experienced that at any other restaurant. Most of the times from Gill or another of his team member Bipsha. Both were very helpful.
"¢ Half of the restaurant had been allocated to us with a partition set up. So we had a space of our own. This allowed us to move around and mingle with all the people there. This was so different to all the other restaurants we have gone to before, where we would all sit around different tables and end up talking to only those people who sat besides us. The ability to move around and meet everyone was a huge plus and changed the whole complexion of this dinner.
"¢ The food was amazingly good like I have experienced every time I have been here. We had ordered Chicken Karhai, Goat Karhai, Tawa Keema, Bihari Kebab and Palak Daal. On the spot while the dinner was in progress, Gill suggested to add Kheer for desert - which was loved by all. Thanks Gill. We also added Tea to the menu which was not originally planned.
"¢ All the food was served in buffet style. In this way there was no clutter on the tables and all the food was shared as against some dishes getting finished on one table while other had them in excess. Buffet style also provided the opportunity to all to walk around and meet others. Some people had formed their groups and ate while standing. To each his own.
"¢ The service was outstanding and Bipsha was very professional and with so many of us, I must say very patient as well.
"¢ The food prices were quire reasonable compared to any other restaurant out there. And then to have so many extra advantages as well.
"¢ While the dinner was in progress, the restaurant owner, Jamshed also came out and checked on us and spoke to me to find out if all was to our satisfaction, and if they could do anything to make our dinner even more memorable. A good personal touch.
Another interesting thing that I found out at Charsi Karhai was that they also offer buffet for larger groups, based on whatever dishes you want - not their own fixed menus. This was very different from all the other restaurants.
It almost seems like I have been paid to do marketing for Charsi Karhai, but believe me, I mean every word of what I have written - and I not getting paid for it either. Lol!
Thank you Team Charsi Karhai.

Last night, I had the pleasure of arranging a dinner for my former colleagues from Unilever Pakistan. There were about 40 of us, and I've had the privilege of organizing these gatherings for a few years now, each time at a different restaurant.
This time, we met at Charsi Karhai, and I have to say, it was truly one of the best experiences we've had. This isn't just my opinion; everyone who attended had glowing feedback. Here's why:
"¢ Prayer arrangements: Since our dinner was scheduled for 7 pm, around maghrib, many of us wanted to offer prayers. The restaurant already had a decent arrangement in place, which was very thoughtful.
"¢ Personalized menu: Gill, the restaurant manager, coordinated with me to fine-tune the menu to our liking. We went back and forth with texts and calls to ensure everything was just right, and I really appreciated the effort. Both Gill and his team member, Bipsha, were extremely helpful throughout.
"¢ Private space: Half of the restaurant was allocated to us with a partition set up. This allowed us to have our own space, which gave everyone the chance to mingle freely. It was such a refreshing change from our usual restaurant experiences, where we'd end up seated at separate tables with limited interaction.
"¢ Delicious food: The food, as always, was outstanding. We ordered Chicken Karhai, Goat Karhai, Tawa Keema, Bihari Kebab, and Palak Daal. Midway through dinner, Gill suggested adding Kheer for dessert, which was a hit with everyone. We also included tea, which wasn't in our original plan, but it made the evening even better.
"¢ Buffet style: The food was served buffet-style, which made everything so much smoother. There was no clutter on the tables, and everyone could help themselves, ensuring nothing went to waste. It also encouraged people to move around and connect with others, which really added to the warm and social atmosphere.
"¢ Excellent service: The service was top-notch. Bipsha and the team were very professional and patient, especially considering the size of our group.
"¢ Reasonable prices: The food was priced quite reasonably, especially considering all the extra touches that made the evening so special.
"¢ Personal touch: During the dinner, the restaurant owner, Jamshed, came by to check on us. He personally spoke with me to ensure everything was going smoothly and asked if there was anything else they could do to enhance our experience. It was a lovely gesture.
One thing I discovered about Charsi Karhai is that they offer a customizable buffet for larger groups, which is quite unique compared to other restaurants. You get to choose the dishes you want rather than sticking to a fixed menu, which I thought was a great option.
I know this may sound like I'm promoting Charsi Karhai, but I genuinely mean every word. And no, I'm not getting paid for this! 😄
Thank you to the wonderful team at Charsi Karhai for making the evening so memorable.
