Having frequented El Metate since my childhood when it was located on Standard and now enjoying their consistently fresh and flavorful Mexican bread, rotisserie chicken, albodigas soup, and reliable Christmas Eve tamales, beans, and rice, I appreciate their professional and courteous service, extensive Pan Dulce selection, and overall quality, making them my go-to for catering events or feeding a crowd at home, and though I had initial reservations due to my limited Spanish, I found their market offerings impressive, with only a minor disappointment of not finding chile relleno on the menu, but their deli section and variety of meats for tacos, burritos, or plates made for a satisfying dining experience both inside and outside the cozy establishment.
