Birch Street Sandwich Shop is a local spot that offers simple lunch options like sandwiches, soups, and salads at pretty reasonable prices compared to other places in the Newport Beach/Costa Mesa/Irvine area. Sandwiches go for around $5.75, salads range from $4.75 to $7.50, and soups are about $2.75 for a cup. I used to visit this place a lot when I worked near it, but a change in office location kept me away for a while. Just recently, I went back and tried their chicken walnut salad sandwich on squaw, and it was just as tasty as I remembered.
