NEVER EAT HERE!!! They served us fried chicken that was blackened & burned to the point that you couldn't crack through the skin with a knife... twice, then had the audacity to charge us full price for it!!! The meat inside was not cooked and gummy, it's not like we could eat it. After an hour of this, we went home hungry. Before this, I'd ordered the liver and onions, but it was so chalky I sent it back, to be charged for it. The burgers are GREASY & the fries are usually dried out. We ate at the Blue Whale daily during our kitchen remodel & assumed that the poor customer service might improve. It did not. NOT a family restaurant because they aren't friendly. Tried everything on the menu, but it's mediocre at best and overpriced. Go elsewhere!

We recently stayed in Yachats and ate at the Blue Whale twice on 3/28 dinner and 3/29 breakfast.
If it was not for the poor management I would have rated this restaurant at least a 4. My son said the halibut and chips was the best ever and my rib eye steak was great.
Service was extremely slow although the wait staff were pleasant and obviously overworked due to short staffing.
It took 65 minutes after waiting to place order for an English Muffin/side of sausages, chili dog, two chocolate chip pancakes to arrive on Sunday at 11:00am. Again the food was great but I nodded off waiting for it.
