A friend and I visited the restaurant for it’s buck a shuck promotion. We were told reservations are highly suggested however upon arrival, we noticed only a handful of tables were occupied; and the lack of customers speaks volumes. The place itself is quite dull, dusty and uninspiring; the menus are unclean, and the decor is quite mediocre. Nonetheless, we each ordered 10 oysters. The oysters arrived drowning in a white serving bowl filled with water and some ice, as if it had been left out for an hour. There was a baffling amount of shell pieces in the water and inside the oysters themselves - not one oyster was free of shell pieces. Being an avid oyster eater, I understand that we can occasionally find pieces of shell, however this was unreasonable. The oysters were served with amazingly small lemon pieces, a dry horseradish and a “white wine mignonette” which was undeniably straight white wine. We had to force ourselves to finish the oysters because the experience was outrageous. The server was friendly - however awkward - and service was very scarce; perhaps it is better that he did not ask how our food was. Having been a business owner myself, I am quite hesitant to write bad reviews, however this experience was so appalling that I would feel bad not to warn potential customers.
