I've eaten there twice, the first on a brisk Sunday evening and then on a quiet Monday afternoon. Sunday I sat at the bar. On both occasions what immediately jumped put at me was the quality service. Polite, attentive without hovering, quick to clear a plate or refill a beverage.
I liked the atmosphere, contemporary, lots of windows, a covevered al fresco area option. The booths all have high backs contributing to a cozy feeling.
On to the fundamentals, now I have never been to Mexico but am very familiar with many of the Mexican themed restaurants in the greater Pittsburgh area. The 2 dishes I have tried were exceptional . Well portioned, flavorful and nicely presented. On both occasions I enjoyed a margarita and it was also exceptional. I also appreciated that they don't offer a " grande" that requires two hands to pick up.
I've read some of the reviews and was surprised to read some of the criticism, I guess haters are gonna hate. If you are so sensitive to price you probably should cook at home. If you have a " gluttony" mentality, get some help before you forge a intimate relationship with a cardiologist and if you cannot extend a Lil grace to a new business in their first couple of weeks in operation read your Bible. If you're looking for a good meal, in a nice atmosphere served by an attentive staff fairly priced I wouldn't hesitate to stop at Tulum !
