I ate at The Tom Cat Cafe for lunch today. This jazz themed eatery was almost filled to capacity. The walls are decorated with posters and pictures of jazz greats and jazz music added to the ambiance.
And the food... it was wonderful!
I had a crab cake sandwich. All crab - NO filler. it was dressed with lettuce, tomato, citrus mayo on a pan roll. It was delicious. It came with a side of french fries or or the side of the day which was broccoli salad.
The service was good and the owner/chef made a personal stop at each table to check on customer satisfaction.
It as a delicious lunch and I will go back to sample other items o the menu

Awesome!!! That about sums it up. Amazing food, great service. I eat here all the time. People line up out the door to eat here.

And I was there the day the owner asked that man and his girlfriend to leave. He was rude right from the get-go. Then demanded that he not be charged for anything, which made no sense at all.
Then he started shouting profanities while young children were sitting right there. It was absurd.

01/23/2011 - WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!
This was absolutely the worst dining experience i have ever encountered, in my life. We sat for 50 minutes before the food arrived, and when they finally brought it, the order was wrong. I asked the waitress to take it back, and that i did not have time to wait for another omlet. My Girlfriend began eating her breakfast until a chef walked up and said "sorry (I thought it might be the manager coming to make things right) ill take that" and litterally took her meal out from under her fork. I was sure it was a misunderstanding and said "No this meal is ok." He then told us we could leave and not come back. When i acted surprised and disrespected i was told he would call the police if we did not leave. My girlfriend (in tears) and i left and will NEVER RETURN. I have never been as insulted or humiliated in public as this before. I WOULD URGE ALL OF YOU NOT TO PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Its a shame, because the menu looks great, too bad i will never know what the food tastes like
