OK, call me entitled, but....This place is situated in a highly residential middle class neighborhood of waspy provencials. WHY are there no specials or good advertising to get people in there? Word of mouth certainly doesn't work, as I live just a few blocks away, have money to spend on a good experience, and I hear not one peep from the locals about how this place could possible be worth my time and money. I shouldn't have to walk into a neighborhood bar/restaurant, ask if there are any specials, and get a smug, "um, no..." like I had just dropped down from Mars and asked the most intrusive, absurd question on the planet. Don't they get it in this economy? People want to go to a bar and feel a warm welcome. I guess I'm too old fashioned. They also need to start advertising better.

I can't even comment on the quality of the food because my party never got a chance to eat. I can tell you the service is HORRIBLE !!! I have a friend who is a regular and has been raving about the burgers. We decided after our kids soccer game we would all go there to eat. In total there were 7 in our party;4 adults and 3 kids. It was about 7:30 pm on a Saturday. When we walked in the place there were people sitting around the bar eating and having drinks. All of the tables on the bar side were empty and there were tables available in the back room. The waitress behind the bar asked how big our party was and we told her 7. She told us she would have to get tables ready for us and it would take her a few minutes. A few minutes later she tells us that there is no room for 7 and that we should have called for reservations. She was really rude as if we were stupid for not calling ahead. I have to say this was the most bizarre thing I have ever experienced. Tables were available and we were told they couldn't serve 4 adults and 3 kids. What makes no sense is if we were two separate parties they would have seated us and served us. I actually was looking for a camera thinking we were on some candid camera show. My friend who frequents this place at least 2X/month was floored . He said he is now done with this place after this episode. I myself will never step foot and spend a dime here. I think the owner/head chef thinks he is in the Hamptons and not Northampton to turn business away. The funny thing is we would have easily dropped over $100.

Good quality food. Nice clientele. All food made to order and can sometimes take awhile since it is a small place, but you can't beat it for taste and quality.

Great sandwiches and dinners. They have specials every week. The servers are good and attentive. The owner is a quiet person, but comes up with unique dinners.
