I believe in supporting local establishments so that is why this evening we decided to give Pat's Pizza in Phoenixville a try. They have been there for years so we thought they must have been doing something right and should have good food. We were going to order pizza from Collegeville Bakery on Friday night but they told us they were backed up by an hour and 15 minutes. So tonight we called Pat’s placed our order of a large pizza, an order of fries and an order of waffle fries (since we never ate there we wanted to see which was better). We were told our order would be 20 minutes. When we arrived there was a line 5 people/orders deep waiting to pay for their food and then there were 6 other people who paid for their orders but still waiting for their food. We got to the counter, paid for our food and then were told the fries were done but the pizza would still be about 20 minutes. We commented that the fries would be cold by then and they said the fries would be fine because they were under warming lights. Warming lights are meant to keep food warm not bags and wrappers so the fries would have been cold by the time we got them home. So we found a space around the others who were waiting for food and you could see everyone was upset that their food was not ready. One guy inquired about a pizza that came out and said anything would do at this point. So after waiting another 25 minutes we decided to have them cancel our order and refund our money as we do not believe in supporting a business that will lie to their customers. What tops it off is the void reason on our receipt said Problem Customer! The problem is this place does not know how to operate, needs better leadership/management and needs to be upfront and honest with their customers. If you want to order good food and be told the truth about how long it will take call Collegeville Bakery and make the drive.
