Visa automatically puts on 20% when authorized and when restaurant settles card for close of day the correct amount is applied to card. This is so the card does not have to be authorized again for a tip. This is a common practice at gas stations and restaurants.

I had breakfast with my family on 7/31/10. There was 8 of us. All was fine and I paid the bill of 55.37 with my debit card for that amount. I guess the crew didn't think the 15% my uncle left in CASH on the table was enough as when I checked my bank online today Aug 2nd, I had actually been charged 66.47. In my world that is stealing or double dipping. I will not be returning there again.

Wonderful traditional diner food, great service, friendly people. we had a wonderful three days feeding our lacrosse team members there Aug 2009. Hello to Elliott's from Denver, Colorado!
