Fortunately we discovered Eppinger's Restaurant back in 1977 while serving with the United States Army Command Support Group Moraine State Park National Boy Scout Jamboree 1977. A early quick and very delicious Breakfast at Eppinger's was definitely and always worth the trip from Slippery Rock. The restaurant readily welcomed and accommodated at least a dozen hungry Soldiers stationed nearby on temporary duty assignment from Fort George G. Meade Maryland. The food especially their home fries and omelettes were delicious and my favorite. The servers were the best and customer friendly. The whole experience including Eppinger's, the Boy Scout Jamboree and living and working in Western Pennsylvania for five months was a most memorable and wonderful opportunity and experience for me. I remember only the best things about Eppinger's and For that matter Pennsylvania. Thank you all.

I'm giving a 5 star review just to offset Carol's review. What a jerk. Giving a place a bad review just because other reviewers gave it a bad review? Come on. Every. Person. Is. Different.

What ridiculous behavior.

There was an actual nice review below and things posted on Yelp seem ok.

I personally would give the place a try.

We took friends there for brunch on Sunday. What a mistake! We all ordered breakfast dishes and none of them were edible. The bacon inside the omelets was raw and barely warm. The homefries were just boiled potatoes that weren't browned and room temperature. The texas toast wasn't browned and must have been dipped in liquid margarine because it was soggy and the margarine actually dripped off the bread when you picked it up. It was a very disappointing experience.

The service was good and the waitress was friendly, but the air was so heavy with the smell and the particulates of the deep fryers that we smelled like French Fry's by the time we got out of there.

We were on our way to visit friends, and we needed to go back home and change clothes. It was aweful.
We were only there for 20 minutes and we smelled like we had been working an 8 hour shift as fry-cooks in the back of MickeyDees.

Maybe if they fix the ventilation system, I will go back. But as it is now, the smell of burnt grease is all I can remember about the place.

Don't waste your time or money. Frozen food. Chicken parm with the chicken that was frozen!!! Who can't hand bread a chicken breast needs to hang it up. In this day and age of GMO'S and people in more awareness now for healthy food choices you don't wanna know that the restaurant that just opened in your area is serving such second rate "food". Go down 422 west before the Sheetz and stop at the TeX Mex to Go good truck where the lady and her daughter are serving scratch homemade Mexican food that rocks!!! Homemade smoked brisket that melts in your mouth on our burtito with homemade rockin rice and beans and guac and siur cream and real sharp cheddar cheese made us swoon!! I'll sit outside at her picnic table any day than ho inside Eppys and get taken for a ride. No thanks. Move on cause this place will be closed within a few months. Hands down. Wait for it....wait for it....Bam!!

We wanted to try the new diner in town, excited about there being a new choice. After being seated, and receiving a menu, we waited 20 minutes, in a half full dining room, before the waitress came back. One waitress cleared the table next to us, and looked our way a couple of times, but never offered to help. Ours tended to her other customers who already had their food before coming to our table when she saw we were getting up to leave. Maybe we'll try again in a month, if it's still open, and they have more wait staff.

I had a very tasty breakfast.and priced reasonably. The only thing that I thought was odd that my my check was not totaled. Customers want to know what they owe when they are finished and get their bill.

WHAT A HORRIBLE NIGHT OUT TO DINNER WITH FRIENDS !!!! The new EPPIES in Portersville is where went to try since new opening. The waitress was the nicest person you could have had wait on you. BUT I ordered the 3 piece fried chicken and the first time it came the center of the chicken breast was stone cold, they took it back and after waiting they finally brought back out it was warmer but still not hot !!! So I just quietly asked for a take out container to take home and heat it up. The owner came out and grabbed my chicken right off my plate and ripped it open and said well it isn't cold then left and returned with a meat thermometer and kept yelling at me that it said 160 and he didn't have to do any better. not 160 degrees you would not be able to stand there and tear it apart like that in your hands and I had it on my plate for a while. I asked why he was doing this and he said to prove he was right after telling him I have never been treated this way I started to cry. I was so embarrassed I then was left with the little leg and thigh and they still charged me over 12.00 because I was wrong I said well where is the other piece you took it. I paid my bill of 12.00 for a cup of coffee. went to the parking lot for a smoke and cry.
