As a frequent visitor of this restaurant, I attended the dinner theatre performance in December and it was well worth the amount that me and my husband had paid. It is unfortunate that the actors were not paid. We were under the understanding that the gratuity we had left was to be shared with the actors. If the owner has his/her reasons then it is what it is. We will still continue to dine at this restaurant and recommend it to everyone we know.

And of course......all of the facts of the previous review are not true.
The reviewer (disgruntled actor) leaves out the fact that the dinner theater was only on a trial basis and that the promise of payment was totally dependent on the ticket sales for all of the shows.
Only one show was successfully sold, barelly covering the costs for the show (advertising, food cost, etc.) , therefore the canncellation of the remaining shows and no payment for the actors. Out of all the actors, only one had a problem with the turn of events. It's time to move on and except the whole situation for what it was....a failed attempt to bring some more culture to the meadville area.
12/27/2008 - Stiffed
Foodwise and servicewise, it's pretty good. However, I will never eat there again, and a number of my friends will not either. Why? Because the owner stiffed the dinner theatre actors.
I was cast in a dinner theatre show, which was to be the first of a series of shows here. Our director informed us in the beginning that we would get $50 a show plus tips. All we had to do was show up and rehearse. Everything went well until opening night, when one of our shows for the night was cancelled. Disappointing, but those are the breaks. Opeining night came and went without actors being paid. But hey, there was always next week...
Cue up next week. The owner cancelled all remaining dinner theatre performances...and instead of paying the actors $50/show as promised, offered either $10 cash, a $40 gift card for P&V, or use of a BAR TAB at another tavern. What a let down, not only to the actors, but those who had paid $50 a person for a four course meal and a show. We all were over-promised and under-delivered.
Yeah, the martinis and cheesecake are good, but I've had better at other establishments that haven't stiffed me.
