Good Food

Yesterday Sunday, July 30, 2023 was the first time my family and I have been to Peddler's Village. Overall we had a wonderful day until we walked into Buttonwood Grill. I am going to assume you have to be " WHITE ETHNICITY " be waited on in this establishment. My husband and I and 2 younger children walked in at about 2:40pm and was seated right away in the upper inside right of the restaurant over a lower seated section. I had no idea who our waiter was but assumed because when I did see a waiter she
(MOLLY) was finishing up with 2 tables behind us. So because it seemed as if they were under staffed I didn't complain that we weren't acknowledged even after waiting several minutes. Myself and my husband literally watched this waiter (MOLLY) side eye and ignore us. I see mixed couples getting or waiting to receive service. After seeing the lower level seating area a waiter waiting on 2 white woman who walked in about 10 minutes after us get serviced and given waters without ordering then a table that was right next to us was given to 2 white woman. The waitress immediately came out completely disregarding our table when we know she knew we were there waiting to be serviced. I got up and headed to the host desk. The host at the time was on the phone and I waited about 2-3 minutes for her to be done on the phone assisting someone but while waiting to a older white man walks up to speak to the host as well. Well of course I was over looked once again and the older gentleman had to tell the host I was waiting first, which she was well aware of because I was in her eyes view. When finally acknowledged I ask to speak to the manager on shift. I'm going to assume her name is Jessica Reiter (because that is the name on the business card she handed me) I explained what happened she confirmed that this "Molly" person was in fact our waitress. I was very offended because she offered no apology at all and acted as if it was no big deal and asked if I wanted to be seated somewhere else. What the hell do you mean do I want to sit somewhere else and trust that someone won't do anything to my food. No, what I felt should have happened is that this (Molly) person should have been taken off the damn floor and sent home or for real even fired! It wasn't a misunderstanding or communication it was done deliberately. Unfortunately, as bad as some whites want to believe that we need to stay in " OUR PLACE " is just crazy to me. And you have a nerve to had been in Philadelphia's Magazine! My husband and I had to have a talk with my children who worship in a mixed cultural church with people who come from all different backgrounds but have some knowledge of racism how we were definitely without a doubt racially profiled after this incident because they walked out very confused about what happened. My family and I was very disappointed and just left Peddler's Village and I'm quite sure no one really cares but I will never go back again but I pray 'YOU, BUTTONWOOD GRILL" CHANGE!

It's an excellent restaurant at Peddler's village. The food is healthy and delicious! I have had their Guinness Onion and Bacon burger prepared perfectly to order, Medium rare. The french fries were excellent!
At my 2nd visit, I ordered the full rack of Baby back Ribs, that were cooked to perfection. I live 90 minutes north of the Buttonwood Grill but whenever I visit Peddler's village, I always eat there! I love it!
