There is/was no real place of interest or neighborhood culture in the Philly gay scene. There was a time when Westbury was a sort of old, hidden gem. Following suit with every other gay Philly establishment, it wasn’t run correctly or up to date. The old owner of icandy saw the decline in clientele and attempted to correct it and was knocked down for it. Now it, too, is empty. Woodys is the longest running staple. However, the changes do not relate to the times. An appeal, it once had, totally lost. Non spending, North Philly, urbanite crowd has ruined what little this city had to offer. The only good: outsting the crook who owned Ventue Inn.. an historic landmark. But, his paying waiters and staff under the table, etc., caught up to him. Good luck with your SS benefits....to all the old timers of Venture, etc., when there’s no record that u ever worked anywhere. Sad city.

This place has just restarted their kitchen in September, 2009 and both the tasty variety of food and the service, even on a crowded Friday night, are excellent. The people make it a really good place. Try it and you'll be back often! It's my new favorite place in Philly's Gayborhood.
