Really had a great time. My wife's birthday was celebrated here and we had a blast. Staff was so professional and we will be coming back there again and again

Apparently people who have had cancer are not welcome here. I tried to put together a dinner party for 30 at Sofrita. At first they were accommodating and helpful, however, as the event came closer, I still had not had a correct menu, based on what I had discussed with the manager, Stephanie. It was not difficult – a soup, a salad, a choice of 5 entrée options and a dessert. I kept getting the soup, salad and dessert correct, but they only wanted three entrees (a choice between two fish dishes and a pot roast), even though I was told initially that five was fine (I was even prepared a special dish to sample some of my choices). They also wanted to add an appetizer that I had not wanted. Out of frustration, I finally agreed to their first menu, but wanted to at least add a fourth entrée choice. I did not want to provide alcohol, but was not opposed to individuals ordering their own drinks - something I was clear about from the beginning. I kept getting quite a bit of pressure from the owners to have a bar set up in the room and for me to provide the drinks (according to them, if the people ordered their own drinks at the bar, they might all go at once or trip on the steps). I have arranged dinner parties a number of times in the past where people were responsible for their own drinks and never had a problem with it. After continued pressure to include the alcohol, I explained to them a number of reasons why I preferred not to provide it (something I should not have had to do), including that many of the people did not drink anyway and also in support of a person who recently had gone through chemo therapy and was restricted on alcohol use. When I told Anthony that I really didn’t want alcohol, but because of his insistance, I would check with the people who the dinner was in honor of (who agreed with me not to have alcohol). He told me that it was not up to them, I was giving the party and people would not have fun if there were no alcohol. A week and a half before the event (after my invitations had gone out), Carolyn called me to tell me that it would be better if I found another restaurant because they did not want the responsibility of someone with a medical condition. I asked her “Let me be clear on what your are saying…that you do not want to have my dinner at your restaurant because you don’t want to serve someone who recently had cancer?” to which she replied, “We can’t be responsible for anyone with a medical condition.” Because I could not believe what I was hearing, I asked her several times the same question, but always received the same answer. I will not be back, and will actively recommend against this restaurant!

Came to Tapas Tapas to celebrate a family members birthday. There was 6 of us so we decided to go for the Tapas menu. All the dishes were really lovely and a couple of our party were gluten free so the staff brought out some additional tapas for them without any problems. The staff were friendly and drinks orders were taken promptly and the drinks arrived to the table quickly. The food was hot and was delicious. I will definitely be returning.
