I had the opportunity to meet the new owners of Dovetail during a visit to the Beaverton Saturday Market on July 8, 2017. At their booth, I noticed they were showcasing their latest coffee selections, including an Ethiopian Qonqona that caught my eye. Upon sampling the Qonqona, I was impressed by its rich fruit and berry tasting notes, reminiscent of a previous experience I had with a different local roaster in 2016. It seems that the new owners have embraced a more refined approach to roasting, steering away from the charred flavors that had previously led me to rate them poorly. While they are still in the process of setting up their online presence and expanding into local retail outlets, I anticipate that Dovetail's commitment to quality will soon be recognized by a broader audience. For those seeking an exceptional cup of coffee, I suggest visiting their booth at the Beaverton Saturday Market for a truly satisfying experience. Having been involved in the coffee industry myself, I can attest to the high quality of the coffee at Dovetail, making it a convenient choice for me to treat visitors to a premium brew, especially with a local coffee shop nearby featuring their products.
