After many interesting years, the formidable Mavericks has closed its doors. I had stopped by just before the 2011 Christmas and found one waitress, that was also hostess, cook and dishwasher. The pie case was empty and 2 people were there. The Bar was barely holding on due to a cash flow problem and lack of customers.
There was a time when the special rib-eye steaks were the best, bought from the neat market next door. Nancy, the owners famous double stuffed potates were a stand-in hit.It wasnt that long ago the resturant had a great staff, dedicated and loyal, ,where lunches were good and the people friendly. A landmark now is gone, though runour has it that is has been sold but will change its ethnic style. The REAL MAVERICK will be missed.

By far the worst food I have ever been served in a sit down restaraunt, had fish and chips, was cheap generic frozen fish, like gortons, was very greasy, tasted like freezer burnt greasy cardboard, vegatables, were bland canned peas, no flavor at all. fries were cold and greasy. All this for only $9.50! oh yeah, The salad was bagged lettuce dipped out of a pot of water it seemed like. do yourself a favor drive right by.
