I discovered this store while waiting for my car to be serviced nearby one day. The variety of Eastern European foods offered here is impressive, with options ranging from deli meats to frozen foods, and even unique treats like Kinder eggs. The store is a treasure trove for those seeking authentic products from Russia, Ukraine, and other post-Soviet countries, with a helpful owner and a vast selection of items to explore.

The best store in Maine!I am happy that the owner is not
an idiot and doesn'tforse people to put useless masks!

We LOVE Medeo and its array of foreign imports - herrings, cheeses, jams, juices, coffees, savories, sweets, fresh vegetables, etc. So why the middling rating? NOBODY there will wear a mask during Covid and the store footprint is small. Today several of the store people walked all around as inventory was being brought in. A pregnant woman of the community also had no mask as she and others kept walking right near me. I had a mask on and made a bit of a show of springing back and away from these casual walkers.
I am protecting them and they are not protecting us as their customers. They do wear gloves to cut cold cuts and cheeses and always have. There's no sign on the front door stating that masks are now necessary.
Only signs regarding distancing (which they do not do) and hand sanitizer (which they do not provide in any obvious place). I'm hoping they come to understand how bad this is for all of us, and ultimately bad for their business. Today was the worst I've seen it. I must have chided myself these last few months because we love the place so much. I now wonder when I shall enter there again, after being a regular customer for years.

I live in Brewer. My friend from Ellsworth told me about this shop. And I go shopping there once a month! My favorite store in Maine!!! Usually I spend there not less than $200 -I try to be modest ,though their prices are pretty friendly ! . I discovered a lot of wonderful food .I love their candies and meets , produce and preserves, teas and breads ! I drive four hours just to buy what I really enjoy !Planed to visit Medeo today but I think they are closed in the $th of July....I will call them anyway!
