Neath's airy dining room features tall wooden columns, an open kitchen and oversized windows that provide a great view of the Providence River and the city beyond. The art deco lounge downstairs contains comfortable couches, loveseats and chairs in bright jewel-tones and a free-form bar. Neath's provides both elegant dining and a relaxed, casual atmosphere. When asked why he calls his restaurant a 'New American Bistro,' Cambodian-born Neath Pal replies, 'I am a new American, and my food reflects the blend of flavors and cultures that are a part of me.' Neath and his wife Beth, a Providence physician, opened Neath's New American Bistro in November of 1998. Featuring an eclectic blend of French and Asian cuisine, Neath's is truly a unique addition to the burgeoning Providence restaurant community. In 1999, Rhode Island Monthly named Neath Best Chef in their annual 'Best of Rhode Island' issue, referring to him as 'Unassuming, funny, gracious, smart. Normal.' He was also awarded Best New Restaurant, Best Duck Dish, and Best Chocolate Dessert. The Providence Journal selected Neath's New American Bistro as one of the top ten restaurants in 1999 and the restaurant has been featured in the New York Times and Food & Wine.

My husband & I went here a couple of week ago. This restaurant has great views of the river and the city. He ordered the serloin and seemed to like it. I had the chilean sea bass, my most favorite! It was delicous. The bar downstairs seemed cool, but we really didn't get to check it out. We'll probably come back.
