The aroma of freshly baked pizza fills the air as I step inside, a welcome respite after a week of canned meals at the outfitters camp. My friends and I, seasoned eaters rather than fishermen, devoured three large pizzas, washed down with cold beers, while the locals greeted us with playful ribbing and thumbs up. With each bite of the flavorful tomato paste, I knew this would become an annual pilgrimage, a cherished tradition in the heart of Northern Quebec.
