we were NOT welcomed when we came in.. waitress finally brought water & silverware BUT SKIIPED her way to our table YES I wrote SKIPPED!! she was ready to take our orde3r with NO order pad had to go get one then said I think this would help.. our food was NASTY curly fries were MAYBE 2 inches long, burgers were DRY NO toppings such as ketchup or mustard husband got 5 onion rings, BIL gor 6 mushrooms and I got 2 inch curly fries.. and we ALL had dried burgers sounds yummy doesn't it?? when we saw the parking lot empty that should of told us something.. not one semi was there and they place use to be PACKED not anymore.. NO REPEAT TRIP FOR US!!!

Great place to eat. Always a great meal and your coffee cup is always full. Wait staff is very attentive.

We had an amazing experience at the Hitching Post! Our waitress Chris was very sweet attentive and kind to all 13 of us! We are not the quietest bunch and she didn't seem to mind at all! First stop on our annual family canoe/ boating vacation! Great food family oriented and very clean! Thanks St. John's Hitching Post-Chris rocks!

My family and I had a terrible experience here. We came in with 4 kids, my wife and myself. The waitress was very rude to my wife and children. She seemed very annoyed with our being there. I felt very uncomfortable and I was very angry with her treatment of my children. Kids are a big part of many customers lives I am sure, and if treatment like this is ok at this restaraunt it and workers are not repremanded for this type of behavior I cant imagine that it has a lot of business. A kids cup with a lid is the end of the world at this business and she made it quite clear the extra work to wait on kids was not a pleasant experience for her. Not only was the service awful, but the food was not the greatest. Mashed potatos were deffinately there for a while and the american fries were like rubber. Bad experience and will never return. We will continue with restaraunts in town.

Love this place! I've never had a bad experience here. My food is always good. The service is always friendly and efficient! Keep up the good work!

I used to enjoy going here. The food used to be something I looked forward to. The last few times I stopped the food was not good at all and it is so expensive for a truck stop. The waitress that belongs to the owner is so darn rude. God forbid you drink your coffee and have the nerve to ask for more. Number one, you wont get it very fast and number two she makes it quite known that she does not appreciate your business. The gossip amongst the employees while customers are in the restaurant is absolutely uncalled for and should not be something that is discussed out front where customers can hear. They even have the nerve to discuss the rude customers that have the "nerve" to ask for more coffee. That was my last visit to that restaurant. I will never go back there. There are plenty of places to go with your family or just stop for a quick bite and be treated like your business is welcome.

I always stop here when I'm in the area. The waitresses are friendly and efficient. The home-style food is delicious. I especially like the breakfasts.

Their service is not the greatest. The last time i was their. I found hair in my food. I told them about it and she just plainly looked at the hair and commented its only a couple eyelash hairs!! I was pretty amazed that is what she said. But anyhow i would not go their again the cook has hair to the middle of his back with no hair net on. Health is my concern. Just my experience though

i have had 3 bad meals from this place the first time they forgot my mash patapos the next time they never gave us any silverware then today i did not receive any toast with my breakfast and after i looked at the receipt i noticed that they charge an extra $1.00 for take out. i was outraged and will never eat here again!

Not very cleanly place. Food is not all that! Not worth your money.
