my husband and i went there today to try it for the first time. we will NEVER go back. service was so bad that i couldnt even leave a tip. we ordered soup. it was ok. not a bit of meat in it and it was suppose to be wonton. just pasta and onions. we ordered crab ragoons. those were the only single good thing about our meal. we ordered a california roll and a salmon and cream cheese roll. i asked that cream cheese be added to mine. she said great. no problem. i go pee and come back and find that i got a plain roll and zero cream cheese. it took her more than 10 mins to come back and see us and there was only 2 other ppl in the place. she served the other couple first and we were there a full 15 mins before them. i asked her why my california roll had no cream cheese in it and she informed me that they had used the last they had in my husbands and just made mine plain instead. how arrogant!!! thats my choice. not hers. it was a special order to begin with. i asked for it to be made WITH cream cheese. not without. i didnt want it without it and i wasnt gonna order it without or eat it without it either. she told me, with attitude, that she would remove it from my bill. i tried to eat my sesame chicken and i couldnt. it was like chewing my toe. thats what it felt like. The rice was old, underdone and cold. chewy, crunchy, soggy, no flavor, and was battered in liquid tempura batter but poorly done. all of it was one big bunch of chicken and they didnt even give us a butter knife. a huge spoon and fork and no knife. The rice was old, underdone and cold. NEVER AGAIN. NEVER. BAD FOOD AND SERVICE IS NOT GONNA BE TOLERATED BY THIS COUPLE.

Didn't have half of the menu. They "ran out." How do you run out of food on the menu. I ordered the sesame chicken expecting a delicious meal. What I got was breaded chicken with syrup poured on it. It was disgusting. If you are advertising as a Chinese Restaurant, then you should know how to cook Chinese food. I will never eat there again, nor will I recommend it to anyone else.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Traverse City. When I think Chinese food, this is where I want to go. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff is polite. The food is wonderful. I love their egg drop soup, it's very flavorful, so I'm not sure what the deal was with the other reviewer. My husband gets the wanton soup and enjoys that very much as well. Their soups are broth based, which is different from some places.

My husband gets sesame chicken, the kids get sweet and sour, and I get almond diced chicken. All very good. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. We've been visiting this place a few times a year since 1999.

we live close to golden chopsticks and often order their take out. The food is always fresh, and well prepared. The Egg drop is my favorite in town and they have an excellent sushi bar as well. the staff is friendly and there is always imidiate seating. go try it out today!

We waited a long time to be seated. Then waited a long time for waitress to come to the table. Ordered egg drop soup, which again took a long time for us to get - AND the soup was horrible. Broth tasted like water. We ordered sweet and sour chicken and it was very good. Then we again waited for the waitress to bring our bill. We finally just went to the cashier counter, where we waited AGAIN for someone to take our money. Although the food was semi-good, we will never visit this restaurant again.
