Food is awesome , as far as ppl saying the owner is rude I’ve never had any issues with him he’s very nice We have been getting our broasted chicken from there for a few years now we love the service and the food !

I have a hard time understanding the people who say the owner is rude or has a problem with women. I am a woman and I have been going there for 3 years and have never had a problem. The owner has always been friendly. He has a great sense of humor and is always telling jokes. The service is fast and the chicken is Awesome.

Awesome chicken and potatoes. As fas as the owner he was great as well! The chicken is made to order no bs no frills just awesome chicken. One man band he cooks, cleans, cash, 1000% better than the rest!

Ordered Chicken for the first time today and it was excellent. The owner was very, very nice, had no problem there at all. GREAT PLACE

No, I believe the people who say the owner was rude. I have dealt with him twice, and both times he was rude. I believe he has a problem with women, which doesn't bother me, because I had no problem standing up to him. When I placed my first order for a party of 100 a month in advance, I asked for a receipt. He made a big deal. I said, I am not giving you this much cash without a receipt. He grudgingly wrote one. He then said "make sure you're on time, and by on time, that means 15 minutes early". I said, "I'm military, no worries sir, I am never late". When I arrived 15 minutes early for my order, he jumped on me stating "you are way too early, it is not ready". I said "well sir, you stated if I am 15 minutes early, I am on time." The food IS good, but customer service means everything to me. We will never go back.

Great chicken and great service. Run by the owner and yeah he may stick to what is on the menu but thats why theres a menu! The last time we went there it was just 30 min before closing and the owner trusted us to run to ATM as he started our order.

I ordered a small bucket 2 weeks ago and ordered all of the dark meat thighs with no problem. Today I had the same order and when I went to pick it up 4 separate thighs were added to my order. I explained to the owner my dark meat request. He said they did not do this, they had a menu for this reason.He explained the chicken was made to order and filling an order like this left extra pieces. He said he would do me a favor and change out my pieces like I had ordered. I tried to explain to him that I just had the same order two weeks ago. He then proceeded to embarrass me in front of three other customers in the restaurant about making a special order and that what a menu was for. Great chicken , very poor customer service. I would like to ask this: How pray tell do you fill an order of all wings or all legs? Are there extra pieces after that. That was my last time. Try Southgate Famliy diner for chicken that's just as good, and special instructions are met with a smile.

I have been going here for years, and it is the best chicken I have ever had.
Way better than that other place.
Not going to turn this into a fighting blog, but, If anyone says different about this place or the owner, they are liars. Some people need to grow up.
The owner has always greater me with a smile.

I agree the man who owns the chicken coop is an older man who respects his customers, they have the best chicken and the best ranch dressing ;)

I'm guessing that the previous reviewer had a beef(no pun) with someone at this place, or possibly caught him on a bad day. I've ordered there over the years and have always been treated with respect. The food is always good and the prices reasonable. What doesn't make sense in his comments is "go to Kroger.. they sell chicken by the piece" So does The Chicken Coop! If he wanted a special order, he could have ordered exactly what he wanted via their menu: 2 Breast Dinner $7.50 or Chicken Breast $2.25 each. And of course you can get any Side Orders as they are all separately listed and priced. So something stinks here and I don't think it's the Broasted Chicken!!

I live only a few blocks from there and have never been there until last week. I wanted to pick up a chicken dinner for the family. As i went to start my order i told the older guy you said he was the owner that i would like to order a family meal bucket. My concern was that i do not like thighs at all and i will pay whatever the upgrade is for breast. His response was "do u wanna buy the place then you can make your own menu, If you want to have a special order then go to KROGER, they sell chciken by the piece". I asked him if he was serious and he said i have been here for 12 years...
