I live in California. I cannot wait to take a road trip back to MI. Alex's Market will be my first stop. The selection and quality of food and drink are only second to the people that own and work there. I don't know who the Chef is but my compliments to the Chef!

After visiting Alex’s, and testing some of specials, I ordered an assortment of wraps for Christmas Eve. They even accommodated a food allergy very quickly when asked to be added last minute. The wraps were a big hit and we are a big family. Both locations have been awesome in service and quality food.

Prices are ridiculously high from the gas pumps to the products in the store, customer service is terrible in the deli, the cashiers are overloaded while deli employees watch the line get longer, terrible attitudes in the deli.. don't count on coffee being made and if it is cross your fingers there is cream or hazelnut.. tobacco products come in on Wednesdays, why do i know that??

Honestly had no idea this was such an amazing place. I kept hearing about it from people and said I want to see what they are talking about. Do one day we went camping at the local camp grounds and finally came into Alex's market. It is the nicest market and gas station I have ever seen and will never see another place like that anywhere. The food is out of this world, the service is great, there beverage/alcohol selection is unbelievable this place is one of a kind and they do an amazing job. I wish I lived in this area because I would be there morning and night!

Our local paper recently listed this place as one of the #Drive75 Favorite Shops. Since we were going to be in the area I checked out their website and said hey this is on our path let’s check it out. Website says once you stop you will be a customer for life. Well that’s not true for me and my husband. We will never go to this establishment again. Not because of the food. Deli cases were filled with AWESOME looking products. Unfortunately the customer service was so poor I was literally shaking when we left. We were having such a good day and were so excited to try this place. There were three ladies working. The lady behind the deli counter was one of the rudest people I have ever encountered. She made us feel like we should have apologized for bothering her. Keep in mind we were the only customers in the whole place. It was 10:00 a.m. on Thursday morning. After 5 minutes of standing there she asked us if we wanted to order. My husband ordered his sandwich, by number, on rye bread. I said I’d like #23 on sour dough bread. She nastily holds up her hand and said wait a minute. She makes my husband’s sandwich. Then she gets out my sour dough bread and just stares at me. I said again I would like #23. She puts lettuce and tomato on the bread so I said my sandwich doesn’t have lettuce and tomato on it. She nastily says “so you only want corned beef?” My sandwich, according the their numbered board, was a Turkey Special – turkey, Swiss cheese, coleslaw and Alex’s Russian dressing. I said #23 three times and she looked at the order menu three times to see what #23 was. She then makes the sandwich without Alex’s Russian dressing so I had to tell her I wanted the sauce. She hands the box over the counter and never said a word. No thank you, no enjoy your sandwich, nothing but serious attitude. And those two sandwiches took her almost 15 minutes to make. It was the worst customer service I have received in a long time. She ruined what could have been a wonderful Michigan experience. I told the cashier how rude and awful the woman was. She was only capable of saying I’m sorry. Not I’m sorry what was the problem? Maybe the lady was her boss, maybe the lady was the owner.

On the plus side, our sandwiches were fantastic. But with that said, it was just a sandwich served with a HUGE side of attitude.
