Horrible "service": A group of us went for our friends #19 birthday. Vicente was our server. He definitely did not like his job or he did not want to work that night. He was hunched over the front counter when we walked in. We asked for a table and he gruffly told us to follow him. We were surprised at the lack of enthusiasm, but we were not going to let his disposition bring us down. We ordered drinks and the birthday girl's drink tasted horrible - it had come separated, even after stirring. She mentioned to Vicente and he did not care. She asked for a different drink and he told her she would have to pay for both. That was his response! Not, sure we can replace it. Nothing. We are all servers at other restaurants ourselves and pride ourselves on good service. When she asked for a strawberry margarita, he said he would bring her cut up strawberries and she could put them in her drink! He then said to us "What do you want to eat? Hurry up". We ordered our food because we still did not want to have her night ruined, but then called him back and cancelled the order. He then proceeded to tell my friend she had to pay for the drink that had separated and when she refused, he yelled at her, so I paid for it. In retrospect, we should have walked out and only paid for the other drinks that we drank. He also put 18% tip into the machine when he handed it to us (only 4 of us) and we told him he was not getting a tip and we cancelled it out. We asked for a Manager and were told that there was not one working that evening (August 2 ). I messaged the owner the next day and no reply. We left and went to Earl's and the server rocked it! Fantastic food and service. Highly recommend. We have eaten at Hugo's multiple times - if one wants Mexican food in the Surrey/Langley area - Hugo's will not disappoint. Do not waste your hard-earned money at Viva Mexico.

We took an out of town guest there for dinner and we were all disappointed. Food was terrible. Ordered 2 pork and 1 chicken burrito and there was basically no meat in the pork burritos and nothing else in it . There burritos only have mushy meat in them. complained and they replaced 1 pork burrito with a chicken burrito and I ordered tostados instead of another burrito . they came and honestly there was barely a sprinkle of chicken on them it was disgusting and a couple sprinkles of tomatoe and lettuce for 20.00 dollars. So I asked to see the manager and he wanted me to order something else. He wasn't getting the message that by now I had ordered 2 meals and wasn't going to order a third. you would think that after the 1 st return they would have made a better effort. The rice was tasteless . The bill came to 90.00 and the 3 of us left very upset. WE WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN.

Service was good. Music was nice.Decor was fun.Food was a big disappointment. I had tasteless rice and the tamales were the worst I've eaten. Music, decor, and service can't substitute for bad food.

The food was ok... The service was horrible.... Hate that an 18% was automatically added to the bill....

Worst service I've had in years. The food was great. Staff was friendly but Takes 20 minutes to get a menu and drinks. Other Mexican restaurants serve your drinks and tortillas with salsa within minutes of seating you. Here we spent so much time waiting for any kind of service. Won't be back!

It was the best food I ever tasted.. They sure went out for my brother in laws birthday.. I will be returning for sure and telling people about it..

Went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Waited at the entrance for 10 minutes without anyone coming to seat us. Food was horrible.. went to this restaurant pre-pandemic and had a good meal. Now it's really dropped off. Expensive and disappointing. Will not be returning. Sorry but the truth.
