I took my girlfriend to enjoy her free birthday dinner. She was totally satisfied with her meal. I on the other hand was not. I ordered all you could eat fish and chips. The waitress brought me my dinner and never returned to the table until my girlfriend had finished her dinner. At that point, she asked me if I wanted more fish. It was too late for that! She spent her time chating with the staff instead of looking after her customer. She brought me my bill and the machine for payment. When it came to tip, I put in 0 as I felt she did not deserve one. My girlfriend was looked after but I was not and I was paying the bill.

My husband and I considered the Boathouse to be one of our favourite restaurants 3 to 4 years ago. Since then, we have both been very disappointed in the food. We have been absent for a year. Last Friday we were in the vicinity and decided to give the restaurant one more try. I ordered haddock, a bowl of soup and rice. I figured that I couldn't go wrong with that. The meal wasn't terrible but it didn't have any flavour. The soup was the best of the trio but the haddock was mediocre at best and the rice was akin to eating paper.

We did have a lovely waitress by the name off Maggie. In fact, at no time have we needed to be critical of any server at this establishment. However the place was far too expensive for the quality of the food and we will not be going back.

Terrible fries with the fish, tasted like 2 days old and warmed up! Overpriced!!! Won't be back!!
