Reviews for Cora's Breakfast & Lunch

My family went to Cora's for brunch today, and left with a bad taste in our mouths! My husband simply asked for his breakfast potatoes well done and crispy. Instead of letting us know this wouldn't be possible because of the way they cook things, they took the order without delay, and served him a plate with the potatoes barely even browned. Obviously, he mentioned that it wasn't how he wanted them.

The waitress comes back from the kitchen and says that it would take another 20 minutes for them to do it, so it can't be done for us (why wasn't that mentioned when we ordered if it's that big of a deal?). So, we ask for the manager. Another waitress comes out and says the owner is in the kitchen and can't come out, so she was there to relay that nothing can be done (again, just telling us at the beginning would have been one thing, but to send 2 different staff instead of coming himself was the real issue we have now).

The owner finally makes an appearance, and greets us with "What's going on here? You're upsetting my staff!" Umm... What about us? We asked for one simple thing, it was ignored, and instead of being upfront in any way WE are being labelled as causing a problem? Some honest up-front communication would have prevented the entire issue! The OWNER actually waved his hands toward the door and told us to leave, and left the table without any apology or true resolution. It was pathetic.

Never going back. Will go to Uptown Waterloo Cora's instead!!
