My husband and I recently celebrated our 58th anniversary at The Masthead Restaurant in Cowichan Bay and it was a wonderful celebration! Th food was outstanding and the service was excellent. We would definitely recommend this spot 💕

It saddens me to write this review, but the owner Denise Harm was so rude that I feel compelled to share our story. We made a reservation online 10 days ago and received confirmation. We arrived at the restaurant promptly at 6PM as a party of six with guest from out of town, and we were informed we had no reservation and they had no room because they had a wedding even though the restaurant only had two tables occupied at the time. We showed her our email confirmation and she aggressively said it was unconfirmed. She was curt, rude, unapologetic, and made no attempt to find a solution. Our group quietly left and I walked back in to ask her name. She said her name was Denise and gave me her card, and to my surprise she is the owner. I told her that I thought she was incredibly rude, and she abruptly turned and walked away. I read other reviews complaining about the ownership so it appears she may not be a nice person. It is too bad, because we have had nice experiences in the past, but we will never go back.
