We stopped by for Sunday dinner and were very impressed with the entire dining experience. Our state-side guests were very happy with the whitefish fried with a crunchy coating that was served HOT! Clean tables and a lovely lady serving us our every request. Mom's is a great stop and a good value. Thanks !

My mother and sister had the unfortunate experience to have dinner at Mom's restaurant on St Joseph Island. What that staff said and did is inexcusable. My mother ordered a burger and fries with gravy on the side. When her order arrived, the gravy spilled from its container towards my mother's face. She put up her hands to protect herself and got burned on both her palms and had gravy on her shirt, her pants, her shoes and even in her purse. My sister finished her dinner and my mother ate her burger. When the went to leave, the staff informed my mother that she would have to pay for at least her burger. My sister said that my mother is not paying for her meal because of all the damage done to her clothing and hands. The staff insisted that she pay. My mother came back into the restaurant and again stated she was not paying because of what happened. The ended up telling them to take out of their wages. As they were leaving, the cooked stood at the door and yelled at them to not come back because they did not pay for their food. My mother is a 75 year old woman in very poor health. To me, this is totally inappropriate behavior, not to mention customer service. There was never a mention of the restaurant paying to have my mothers clothing cleaned or ointment for her burned hands. This is deplorable treatment.
