A charming spot for a morning meal, the coffee was exquisite. I opted for the omelette with cheddar, paired perfectly with the savory home fries. My companions enjoyed the French toast with a hint of disappointment in the fruit portion and an unexpected foil piece in the Nutella.

I went here Feb.22 2020 and we had to send the food back because it was cold and the bacon tasted like old oil. When we got it back again the only thing that was hot was the potato wedges. When we first got there we were told to sit at the top and when we said we didn't want we would rather sit down below the waitress said well just sit where you want to then what ever. She was not very nice at all.We thought maybe we would try eating here again after the trouble we had before that.We won't be going here to eat again.

Have had breakfast many times and will continue but never again will I for dinner. Slow service and cold food not worth the money or the travel! !!

The 17 West Bar and Grill has a nice relaxed feel, the service is excellent and the breakfasts are second to none. For dinner the portion sizes are good and we always leave feeling full and happy. If you're in the area for whitewater and need to refill there can't be many better places. The only caveat I would say is to stick to the staple fayre - steak and chips, burgers etc. The hungryman breakfast is an absolute joy and will keep you going for maybe two days!

As a family we travel through Cobden ON on our way to Barry's Bay. I have always enjoyed the atmosphere of Cobden and have wanted to try the quaint little restaurant attached to the gas station on highway 17. What can I say good about the restaurant? The floors were clean and the tables were wiped off, unfortunately this is all I can say with honesty.
It seemed reasonably priced until I read the fine print. A $8.50 burger is not unheard of in good restaurants and did not bother me. But the fact that it came without fries or a side for that price was beyond anything I had seen before.
My husbands burger was a bun, meat patty, and a piece of lettuce for $6.50. My burger was with lettuce, tomato, bacon and cheese for $8.50. We could have gotten fries with the burgers for $3.00 a piece but we decided to get a poutine as an appetizer to share for $6.
The gravy was obviously made from powder and you could still taste the grains of the powder within the gravy itself.
My eldest son got the appetizer nachos for $10.00 and that didn't come with any meat on it. It tasted as though it was pre-cooked in the oven and then microwaved to reheat.
The only meal that was half way decent was the kids pizza with its drink included and a desert for $7.00. We didn't stay for the desert mind you, we were appalled at the wait for our food vs the quality.
We waited for our food for 45 minutes and then to have to deal with the staff of the restaurant tell me that the it was alright that they refilled a relish container with mustard with no expiry date or label, combined with the absolute dumbfounded look on her face when I told her that all food contents must be labeled and marked with name and expiry date according to food safety laws of Canada was just to much for me who has worked in the food industry for several years.
Will I ever return to the little family restaurant in Cobden, only if it was because I was picketing outside the establishment to save others the bitter disappointment of ordering food from this place.

We live in the area which means that we don't have a whole lot of choice for places to eat out at. We have eaten at this restaurant on occasion, out of convenience and every time we have been disappointed. Disappointed with: the lazy service; plain, unimaginative, taste and flair-less food, and the horrible redneck new country "music" being played at this restaurant that calls itself a steak house. The only thing resembling a steak house here are the prices.
By the way - the two star rating I've given is out of generosity.
