Arriving late in the afternoon on a gloomy day, we found ourselves at a sprawling resort nestled on the hillside overlooking the majestic St. Lawrence River. Our room's direct view of the expansive river, even under the grey skies, was truly breathtaking, stretching 1.5 miles wide at this point. We enjoyed a cozy evening in, indulging in a simple meal of cheese, bread, and wine while admiring the romantic scenery before drifting off to sleep to the soothing sounds of the river.
