The Italian beef sandwiches at Johnnie's are some of the best I've ever had, with tender, juicy meat served on fresh bread and just the right amount of au jus. Even on busy days, the line moves quickly, and I always leave satisfied, especially after adding hot peppers for that perfect kick. After years of hearing about it, I finally visited and was blown away by how delicious everything was, including the Italian ice, which was the perfect ending to the meal.

I am an ex Chicagoan living in South Miss 50 miles from New Orleans. I have 4 friends from New Orleans
that visit Chicago periodically and after they get their cars from Ohare their first stop is Johnnies.I turned them on to the place.They love it. I was from the west side of Chicago and Oak Park right next door to Elmwood Park.There are a lot of beef stands on the west side of Chicago and a lot of them are good but Johnnies always ranked #1.Regretfully I dont get back there too often as Italian Beefs are my favorites.I have eaten many,many beefs and Combos from Johnnies over the years.

During lockdown we drove over for take out to support them. I know as a restaurant you gotta do what you can do...but don't give me my hotdogs on old stale hard buns. Not going to be back for a long time if your open...keep your deliveries up and serve fresh

Quality has gone down with the proportions. Used to be real good, but as with everything new owners cut corners to make a buck. Lost me as a customer. Good luck staying in business hopefully you can correct it.
