I had a memorable experience visiting Koyasan in Japan years ago, surrounded by temples in a cedar forest and enjoying meat-free meals at a monastery. While Koya in Highland Park didn't quite meet my expectations this time, their sushi is usually fresh and delicious, with friendly service and a cozy atmosphere that keeps me coming back.

This is a small, sit-down restaurant with a great feel and amazing food. All the people are extremely friendly and enhance the atmosphere. I go to Koya every weekend with my friends because I just can't get enough of their food! I've tried a variety of their meals and they're all delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant!
