The authentic Polish and Lithuanian dishes here remind me of my grandmother's cooking, bringing back fond memories of family meals. I will truly miss their delicious potato pancakes and barszcz, as well as the warm, friendly atmosphere that made each visit special.

I remember all my experiences at Mabenka being fantastic and delicious. As kids we dined on wonderful breakfasts, potato pancakes with sausage, eggs over easy, sour cream, apple sauce. As adults, we would have the juicy pork chops, ah the best. Coffee always fresh and pored hot, the bread basket was so scrumptious, the soups so flavorful and appreciated on a cold Chicago winter. I love Mabenka and will miss you. Write a Mabenka Cookbook, it would be a best seller !

SORRY TO HEAR THE BEST RESTAURANT IS CLOSING SOON. Best menu, waitress and owners on the Southwest side. very sad to see it go. But things change and it is a business. Thanks for the wonderful memories we had.

My wife and I tried the food for the first time like 3 weeks ago. My wife and I are African American so, in a sense this was an adventure. Honestly, the staff was amazing. Our food was sooooooooooooooooooooooooo good, the wife and I came back the next day. I had experienced sauer kraut out of a jar as a child. I didn't care for it too much but it was tolerable. Mabenka's kraut can be eaten BY THE PLATE FULL. I had an awesome experience at this eatery. The dumplings were also enjoyable. The pork chop was to die for. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!!!!!
