Love the food, and the atmosphere. Good people and great country cooking. Had breakfast there the biscuits and gravy was very good and also came with fried potatoes. So good we went back for dinner

The Dump has good food! BUT! Since I have stopped eating there, I have lost several pounds and I feel much better! I am back into my skinny jeans and when women see me they just want to kiss me all over my face. And for the first time in a long time, I can bend over to tie my shoes.I used to have to pack a suitcase and take a trip over my belly just to visit my feet. No more fatty food for this "slender man". Only one bad thing with being skinny like this is; I can't go out side when the wind is blowing. Eat water!!!!

I have made occasional visits to this restaurant since 1985! It offers good, hearty meals, my favorite menu items being chicken and noodles, beef and noodles, meat loaf, and the hot beef sandwich. The restaurant is clean; the waitresses are efficient and friendly. What is not to like?

Hey Shame I mean Shayne, ever think they just might be overwelmed by this pandemic? Give it another try when restuarants are back to normal and this time don't be a "Karen"!

Worst breakfast IV ever had, especially for $10.50. the cooks were to lazy to scramble my eggs so basically I got fried eggs. The bacon was seriously raw. Instead of frying potatoes they just gave me mashed potatoes that they were going to serve for lunch. I will NEVER go back. Over priced slop!!! Mcdonald's would have been way better than this lousy joke place. And ..the waitress didn't even once come to our table and ask if we needed anything or if it was good, probably because she already knew it was over priced slop.

I found that eating "Biscuits n Gravy" from the "Apple Dumpling" every morning creates brain cells and reduces hunger! Try it. You'll get that mmmmm feeling....

Do to some circumstances, I had not been into the Apple Dumpling for awhile. Went there today for their delicious Meat Loaf diner. At first, we thought we were some where else. They re-decorated. And what a great job they did! (and are continuing to do) Bright and cheery! No offense but, compared to a lot of the area's restaurants that I've been to, the Apple Dumpling is clean, very clean! And bright! Plus, all of the waitresses are neat, clean & polite! You get seated quick. And you get waited on quick. And you get your food quick. But you don't have to eat quick. You can tell that the owners take pride in their "unique" restaurant. I've said this before, it's like my Grand Mothers food. I like everything except the liver. But I didn't like my Grand Mothers liver either. When Grandma cooked liver for us, I'd have a bowl of cereal instead. lol
If you want food that will stick to your bones (grandma's quote 50 years ago) this is the place to eat! I go hungry on Mondays though.

A Great Place To Chow Down! Gooood Goood Food! BUT! They Need A Taco-Tuesday. It Is Very Hard To Find A Good Taco Any Where In The City. Apple Dumplin's "Taco-Tuesday", mmmmmmm

What a wonderful dinner we had today 8/8/2019..Beef and noodles over home made mash taters, roll and green beans with bacon bits. And ice cream and apple dumpling for dessert .If you want home style cookin' here is the place! Very cozy place to eat and the service is second to none! The fastest service I have ever had in my 50 years of eating out.Stacey is a very nice person and waitress.

My Grandma's food. Very Good. Big Portions. Clean Restaurant. Great Waitress's. If There Is A Line {usually is} It's Worth The Wait. The Owner, Kathie Gets You A Table As Quick As Someone Finishes Their Meal And Leaves. I Love The Biscuits & Gravy With An Over-Medium Egg On Top. But, My Favorite Is "Beef & Noodles"! Oh! If You Like Chicken Gizzards, mmmmm!!!!

Recently moved to Urbana. Was looking for some home cooking and found the reviews here. Really happy I went. It felt like a home away from home and the food was delicious.

This is a great place for supper but the breakfast was horrible. I ordered a ham and cheese omelet and it comes with what they call fried taters,...I asked for no gravy....I got a hunk of the nastiest looking stuff. It even had back in it and it was like they had set out and turned dark. I did not even touch them. Husband said his were not good. The biscuit was undercooked and doughy. It was the most horrible breakfast and we won't go back. They were not very busy now I know why. Many places to eat without dealing with that yuck.

I hadn't been here in a long time. But I tell you, the goulash and the chicken 'n noodles are like what my Mom and Grandma used to make...YUMMY!! And made me and my tummy smile bringing back memories.

Actually, even though much of the food at Apple Dumpling is fried, it is not greasy. (Yes, there is a difference.) There are also many menu options that are not fried. Lynn, apparently you don't have a weight problem, and I congratulate you on that. I also "congratulate" you on the stereotypical judgment you make about people you are.

I have been told by several this is the place to get country food. Country food it is with all the grease. Everyone was friendly but you could tell that they have a clientele who likes the fatty stuff, as all were overweight. If you care about your cholesterol, don't eat here.
